I'm Launching Collision Advisory. Here's Why.

February 24, 20264 min readDoug Higgins

I'm going to tell you something I didn't expect to be saying a few years ago.

    I'm launching my own thing.

From Fortune 100 Boardrooms to Collision Shops

For the last decade-plus, I've been in big rooms. Kroger. Running finance for a multi-billion dollar division, then leading strategic business planning at the enterprise level. The kind of work where you're managing budgets that would make your head spin and sitting across from people whose names you'd recognize.

Then I spent two years working in a multi-location collision repair company. Completely different world. Same lesson: the people who build businesses with their hands are just as sharp as anyone in a Fortune 100 boardroom. They just never had someone in their corner who could translate the financial side into something useful.

I want to be that person.

    What Collision Advisory Is

Today I'm publicly launching Collision Advisory, a fractional CFO practice built specifically for collision repair shop owners and small MSOs.

I help owners know their numbers, clean up their financials, and build real plans. Not with jargon and 50-page reports. With straight talk that actually moves the needle.

This isn't something I'm testing out. I've been doing this work. Now I'm putting my name on it.

    Thank You

Building something like this doesn't happen in a straight line. And it definitely doesn't happen alone.

A few people I need to thank. Gary Millerchip, Andy Seitz, Tom Cebulko. I learned more sitting in rooms with you than any textbook could teach. Andy Tylka and the TAG Auto Group team, thank you for two-plus years that changed how I think about this industry. Everything I know about what it takes to actually run collision shops, I learned alongside you, and I look forward to continuing to assist you all as you progress. And to the many others who've shaped how I think about business and finance along the way, thank you.

    Let's Connect

If you're a collision shop owner who's ready to know your numbers and build what's next, or you know someone who is, I'd love to connect.

I also run Summit Financial Advisory for established small businesses outside of collision. Roofing, HVAC, professional services. Same approach, broader lens.

More to come. This is just the beginning.
